Rev. Veronica H. Bailey

Rev. Veronica H. Bailey, the oldest daughter of Mrs. Ida L. Robbins and the late Mr. Allen Hall and the oldest granddaughter of the late Mr. Willie Jr. and Mrs. Lila M. Lee, was born April 23, 1958 in Columbia, SC.  Rev. Bailey attended the public schools of Richland County.  She graduated from A.C. Flora High School in 1975.  She went on to further her education receiving a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 1980 and a Masters of Business Administration from Winthrop University in 1999.

As an undergraduate student, Rev. Bailey began her career with Citizen and Southern National Bank, currently Bank of America.  Rev. Bailey was employed with Bank of America for over 22 years, working her way through the ranks to become Senior Vice-President.  Upon leaving Bank of America, she joined South Carolina Bank and Trust, now South State Bank where she was the first African American to achieve the level of Senior Vice-President and the first female member of the senior management team.

In July 2006, Rev. Bailey was named Chief Financial Officer for Brookland Baptist Church, West Columbia, SC, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Charles B. Jackson, Sr.  She believes her position with Brookland is a special calling and appointment by God.

Also, in 2006, God blessed Rev. Bailey to start her own business, VAST Accounting and Business Solutions, LLC.  She holds the title of President and Chief Executive Officer at VAST.

On December 21, 2014, Rev. Bailey was installed as the Pastor of New Samaritan Baptist Church, Columbia, South Carolina.  New Samaritan holds a special place in Rev, Bailey’s heart.  She attended New Samaritan as a child and has worshipped there for the past thirty-three years.  She has a heart for the people of God and serving God.  She accepted her calling into the ministry in May 2003 at New Samaritan.  She loves the Lord, loves preaching His Holy Word and loves singing praises unto His Holy name.  Her first public speaking appearance was at Cleaves Memorial CME Church on February 29, 2004.  She was licensed on June 13, 2004 at New Samaritan Baptist Church.  Rev. Bailey was ordained by the Mt. Hebron Progressive Baptist Association and New Samaritan Baptist Church on July 6, 2008.  Her heart’s desire is to continue to grow in the Word of God and be used by Him in service to His people.  One of her favorite scriptures is Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”

Rev. Bailey is often called upon to sing at various functions and does so with great joy.  She currently serves as President of the Mt. Hebron Progressive Baptist Association Women’s Department.  She is the immediate past treasurer for Mount Hebron and past Treasurer for the Congress of Christian Education of Mount Hebron.

Rev. Bailey has three beautiful children, Antonio, Shatarri, and Tenisha.  She is also blessed to have a wonderful daughter-in-law, Tokura; three precious granddaughters, Sydney, Sumieko, and Layla; two grandsons, James and Landen and a God-son, Julius.
